This plantswoman's garden is set in the grounds of a country house in Chatham, Massachusetts. We created this garden over a period of ten years, with much involvement from the enthusiastic owners.
The garden's design is inspired by classic English and Italianate sources. It features a formal potager, green room, perennial border, pool, grotto and small arboretum. A windy maritime location, together with the owners' desire to grow a wide range of plant material, presented us with a challenge for planting design.
